Dekeling Hotel, Darjeeling (West Bengal)

The hotel is situated on Mall Road, providing a terrific outlook and a great view of the city. It has a classy heritage look and feel, offering deluxe and super deluxe rooms at very good value for money. While the Mountain View room didn't have a strong cigarette smell as in the standard room, the location is ideal for starting your journey towards the mall.

I found the hotel to be a hidden gem with spectacular views of Mount Kanchenjunga. The rooms in the attic offered cozy comfort with a heater and electric blanket, adding to the charm. The service was exceptional, especially for a solo female traveler like myself, as the staff were courteous, helpful, and always ready to share their local expertise. The location was a dream, providing easy access to restaurants and shops while offering breathtaking views of the mighty mountain. The dining experience, albeit generous, could have had more variety to enhance the overall stay. Overall, a wonderful experience at a fairytale-like hotel.

I had a cozy stay in the Deluxe room above the reception. The staff was very helpful and had a warm gesture, especially for a solo female traveler like myself.
